Therapists

All of our therapists at Central Clinic have been in practice for at least twelve years and have significant experience both working in the field of addiction and with the broader issues of depression, anxiety, low esteem and personal development.

 

Our therapists are able to offer sessions conducted in English, Italian, or Arabic.


Andy Bird

Andy Bird
Andy has been in practice as an addiction therapist since 1996. Over that time he has gained considerable experience working in a number of reputable addiction and eating disorder units.

 

 In addition to his work as a therapist, Andy has worked as a counsellor-trainer, running both addiction and generic counsellor training programmes.

 

Andy trained as a therapist at City University before completing an MSc in Addiction Counselling & Mental Health at the Department of Academic Psychiatry at KCL (Kings College London). He is accredited with the BACP and is a registered member of UKRCP.

Cristina PocapagliaCristina Pocapaglia
Cristina has been working as a therapist in the field of addiction since 1995. She originally trained at CSCT (Central School for Counselling and Therapy) before completing a specialised addiction programme at Promis Treatment Centre.

 

Cristina has previously worked as a counsellor at the Roehampton Priory, and as Lead Therapist on both the Addiction and Eating Disorder units at the Capio Nightingale Hospital in Central London.

 

Omar NafieOmar Nafie

Over the past sixteen years Omar has worked as an addiction and family therapist, both in private practice and in a range of different treatment settings. As Head of Addiction Services at The Behman Hospital in Cairo, Omar was responsible for the development of the addiction treatment facility before his return to practice in London.

 

Omar initially trained as a systemic therapist before completing an MA in psychotherapy from Regents College, London. In addition to his work at Central Clinic, Omar is in the process of completing a doctorate in cross-cultural psychotherapy, whilst establishing addiction training programmes in the Middle East. He is a UKCP registered member.
